Acts of Resistance

What to do?

What I’d like to see most this year is for people to simply spread the word about what the Salvation Army has done. Sure, they’ve been in the media a lot, but there are still people who don’t know the full extent of the horror inflicted upon the Army’s victims.

Please use social media to distribute the articles on this site, and this site itself. If you’re using Twitter, please add #WhiteShieldAppeal with http://www.whiteshieldappeal.org to your Tweets so I (and the Salvation Army!) can get some measure of public interest in this awareness-raising campaign.

But what would also be good is if you actually get in touch with the Salvation Army (see the Tell the Salvation Army page) and tell them how you feel and what you want them to do for their victims. If you get a response, please tell me about it by going to the Contact page on this site.

The Salvation Army also has dozens of facebook pages – far too many to list here. If you’re on facebook, just search for ‘Salvos’, ‘Salvation Army’, and so on, and you’ll find them. Please post your questions and demands to the Salvation Army on these pages (please abide by the rules of facebook and individual sites). Take a screenshot though – your post may not stay up for long!!! Again, I’d love to see what you’ve done and what the Salvation Army’s representatives have to say in response to your posts. Again, please let me know how you went by going to the Contact page on this site.

Do you like taking ‘selfies’? If you plan to mount a protest, even a one man (or woman!) protest, even if it’s just a picture of you holding up a protest sign or a picture of your door (for people in Australia) with the White Shield Appeal protest door sign (Red Shield Door Poster) on it, I’d love to see it. Please email it to me by going to the Contact page on this site. I’ll put up the best ones on this page later on.

Below are videos and pictures of efforts made by people who have problems with the Salvation Army to draw attention to the issues, get the Salvation Army to understand what it’s done wrong, show the public what is wrong with the organisation, or otherwise protest against injustice and inhumanity by the Salvation Army.

Please notify me of your own protests or ‘Acts of Resistance’ as I like to call them by getting in touch the Contact page on this site so I can include them on this page later. NB: Please stay within the bounds of the law!!!!

If these ideas are a bit too much for you, that’s okay. Even if your only contribution at this point in time is to make a start on reading the material on this site, that’s good too.

Whoops. This image shouldn’t be here … it’s just world Salvation Army ‘CEO’ Andre Cox and his wife and their new friend, Robert Mugabe! (Source: http://www.herald.co.zw/president-meets-salvation-army-leader/). Apparently it was a fruitful meeting: one topic of discussion was, it’s reported, a discussion of societal “ills” such as “homosexuality.”
